On May 3rd, 2026 M and I attended the Frame It writers and artists event! It was put on by our dear friend Jade MarieLan and was sponsored by Superior's Public Art Commission.
In an interview with Wisconsin Public Radio, Jade shared, “Most artists, I believe, are multi-genre artists. They usually have many different talents. So, I wanted a place for artists to be able to display all of their talents at one showcase.”
The exhibition will be open through the month of May. There were over 30 artist contributions, including M and I. We both submitted 3 pieces. Feel free to stop by the Douglas County Historical Society to see it. They are open:
Wednesday 10am – 6pm
Thursday 10am – 6pm
Friday 10am – 6pm
Saturday 10am – 2pm

During the event, there were also over 30 local artist vendors. We had a table selling art prints, tarot watercolors, stickers, ghost stories, cards, and lit zines.

It is always a surreal joy to share tangible representations of creative work. A HUGE thank you to anyone that stopped by our table to chat or pick up a piece of art or writing.
We also wanted to do something to give back to our community. We picked two local non-profits that align with our values and donated a small portion of our proceeds in solidarity.
First, we wanted to support Trans Northland. To do so, we sold two sticker designs for $5.00 each and gave 100% of the proceeds from these stickers to Trans Northland. We believe that everyone has a right to live safely and authentically, and love the work that Trans Northland does in our community. According to their website, "Trans Northland focuses on providing three primary services to the transgender community and its allies: support, resources & connection."

Second, we donated 10% of all other proceeds to PAVSA (Program for Aid to Victims of Sexual Assault). With the rise of violence against vulnerable populations, websites with millions of online visitors teaching men to drug their wives, the Epstein files, and the dangerous rise of fascism, we knew we wanted to give support and raise awareness to this cause. According to their website, "PAVSA is dedicated to the elimination of sexual violence in Southern St. Louis County through supporting victims, educating the community, and advocating for change."
